GREG CONNORS:

 

Graduated from Smithtown West HS in 1992, was named all league in 1991 and 1992.  Graduated from Dowling College with a degree in Business Management in 1996 and was named all conference all four seasons (1993-1996)as well as all state (1995 and 1996) and all Northeast (1995 and 1996).  Greg signed out of a tryout camp in 1996 with the Seattle Mariners and began his pro career in 1997 with  Everett Aquasox.   In 1999 Greg was the recipient of the SEATTLE  Award which is given to one minor league player a year in the Seattle organization. The Seattle Award is the most  prestigious award in the Seattle organization and exemplifies Skill, Effort, Attitude, Teamwork, Tenacity, Loyalty and Enthusiasm.   The following year (2000) Greg helped his team win the Eastern League Championship.  In 2001-2003 Greg played at the double A and triple A levels for 3 years along with winter ball in Venezuela in 2002.  Greg played with the LI Ducks in 2006.   Greg is a member of the Dowling College Hall Of Fame and was inducted in 2002.

Dominick Ambrosini

Drafted out of Connetquot High school in ’99 by the Montreal Expos in the 6th round

Batted over 300 in 2000(.302), 2006(.317),2007(.316).
 
Ambrosini played for Long Island Ducks in 2005 and 2006. He batted .300 with 21 homers and 103 RBIs in 172 games. The former Long Island Ducks standout batted .316 with 19 homers and 70 RBIs in 100 games. He was also named to the All-Star team.


Chuck Moore:

Chuck attended Oyster Bay H.S.(1980-1984) and compiled a record of 26 wins, 6 losses and 6 saves- he still holds the records for strikeouts (379), wins (26), innings (247) and ERA (1.36)

Chuck pitched for Nassau CC in 1985 and 1986 where his record was 12 wins, 3 losses, and 6 saves (144 innings, 178 K's and a 2.13 ERA)

Chuck then transferred to Oklahoma State in 1986 posting a first season record of 3 wins, 0 losses, and 4 saves (26 innings, 47 K's  and a 1.04 ERA) and injury made him have to sit out the spring season in 1987.

Over the next 3 years Chuck played in the Queens Baseball Alliance for the Incas with great success. Between 1987 and 1989 he recorded 34 wins, and only 2 losses and 10 saves (324 innings, 484 K's and 1.18 ERA)  He lead the Incas to the 1989 championship and was awarded MVP honors and given an invite to try out for the White Sox.

Chuck signed as a undrafted free agent in the winter of 1990 and was assigned to the Gulf Coast League (Sarasota White Sox) under Mike Gellinger.  He pitched out of the bullpen as a closer and recorded 2 wins, 2 losses and 6 saves (17 innings, 26 K's and 2.86 ERA)  After the 1990 season Chuck was promoted to A+ (advanced) but did not pitch.  In the spring of 1991 during spring training Chuck suffered a career-ending elbow injury and was finally relased.

Returning to Long Island in 1992 Chuck joined the mabl/msbl where he has played and managed up to this past season.  Still pitching until 2007 Chuck has ammassed 151 wins, 22 losses, 16 saves (1288 innnings, 1130 K's and a 2.91 ERA)

Chuck has been coaching, managing, and giving private lesson since 1992 and offers his vast knowlege of pitching coupled with excellent communication skills with young pitchers.


BECKY CONNORS:

 

Becky was a 1998 Smithtown graduate who participated in both volleyball and softball.  Softball honors include 4 time All-League, All Conference; 2 time All County and Booster club MVP.  After graduating Smithtown she attended CW Post and was named 1999 All Regional MVP and 1st team all conference in softball. Becky was inducted to the Smithtown Hall Of Fame in May 2007.


Stephanie Poetzsch:

Stephanie Poetzsch, a 2002 graduate of Stony Brook,  Poetzsch, who serves as the Seawolves pitching coach, has played a key role in the development of the Stony Brook pitching staff, including guiding Angela Andrews to second team America East all-conference honors and Sarah Hoffman to all-rookie accolades in 2004.

Poetzsch rewrote the Stony Brook softball record books in her three years with the Seawolves, becoming the program's all-time winningest pitcher with 36 victories and the all-time strikeouts leader with 632. She started a school-record 75 games in her career and recorded an all-time high of 18 shutouts in her three years. Not only that, Poetzsch set a single-game record for strikeouts (15) and pitched the first no-hitter and the first perfect game in the program's history. She holds several single-season records as well.

Poetzsch received All-America East honors in 2002 and team MVP honors as a junior and senior. She was also named Stony Brook's Female Athlete of the Year after her junior season in 2001.

Stephanie was a 1998 East Islip High School graduate who played 5 years of Varsity Softball.  Stephanie was Suffolk County Rookie of the Year as an 8th grader, as well as a 5 time all Conference, 4 time All Tournament, and 4 time All County County Pitcher, as well as a 2 time Fastpitch All American .  Stephanie pitched one year at the University of Rhode Island then transferred to Stony Brook University where she threw the first "no hitter" in Stony Brook Softball history, and a total of 3 career "no hitters".  She was also voted team MVP in 2001 and 2002, as well as America East Conference 1st team in 2002.  Stephanie was awarded Stony Brook Athletics Female Athlete of the year in 2001.  She also still holds several pitching records including most strike outs in a season 283.  After graduating from Stony Brook, Stephanie stayed on as pitching coach for the Seawolves for 4 seasons.  Stephanie has been giving pitching lessons for over 12 years and owns Strike Out, Inc.  Stephanie gives lessons out of The Cage of Long Island for Strike Out Inc.-   www.StrikeOutInc.com
